A nice German Star atlas from the beginning of the 20th century. The first issue of the atlas was published in 1888 in both German and Russian; this is the second, improved and supplemented, edition; also in two languages (Russian, 1901 and German, 1902).
The maps of the northern and southern constellations were loose with the atlas; neatly flawed up in the back cover.
Jacob Messer (28-03-1846 - 30-03-1909) was born in (nowadays) Ukraine, has lived in St. Petersburg and died in the United States.
